Combining Suri and Huacaya alpaca with a touch of merino makes gorgeous yarn! The Suri gives drape and luster...the Huacaya gives loft. Both alpaca breeds are warmer than wool and soft as cashmere. Silky Alpaca Lopi and bulky yarns are produced by some of the happiest, "green" alpacas in the Northwest. Endless natural colors from sustainably raised livestock, guarded by our Pyranees, Denali. Come visit any of the Silky Alpaca farms and see the baby alpaca (cria).
Hey folks....Silky here...trying to figure out all this computer stuff, so bear with me......
ReplyDeleteTo clarify...the Silky Farms breed for more than fineness(this classifies super fine alpaca fleece as "baby" or "royal." An often overlooked variable is variation which is the difference(in microns) between the primary and secondary fibers. A Low variation makes the fleece soft and improves its "handle"....giving you the nicest north American fiber ever.
